The Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, and the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, as well as archaeological consultants, have all contributed to our understanding of Redmond's past. While there is evidence of human habitation in the area going back approximately 10,000 years, further research is needed to determine which specific tribe(s) lived in the area that would become Redmond.
